How I make the money honey!

If anyone already doesn't know I'm a nosey person by nature however at the same time I will at any given time tell you every juicy detail of my life.  I love facebook and the ability to see and be in people's lives without the drama, one of the various reasons I love blogging (guilty pleasure).

I'm always curious to see what other people do and have done for a living, maybe it's my way to compare and see who's done better or {mostly} I'm plain nosey.  I can't wait to see what everyone else does and how they arrived there!

My employment history is well, like any other story I have..interesting.  I've held various jobs since the ripe old age of 15 or what it 14? Anyhow, I've been working my little butt of since before I could drive and it's been atleast 10 years of working.

My previous jobs included:
  • A cashier at a flea market stand, my first job and my boss loved junk and was mostly likely a hoarder. We sold all kinds of trinkets, babytoys and other items, all used.  Oh and her husband had the stand attached to mine which sold knives.
  • A cashier/manager of another flea market stand, my former bosses son went to jail and well he had a hard time paying me and the bills. Basically, I got paid to do little to nothing and the money I did make went right to paying me and the bills.  Oh, he also hit on me.  I was 15 people and he was at least 35.
  • I landed at another flea market stand selling cell phones and when (shocker) my boss stopped coming around and had trouble paying me.  I went to work with the guy we was partnered up with selling cell phone accessories.  I met a lot of great people and worked there from 16-18 and even met my ex boyfriend and the guy I was with for the better part of 6 years.
  • At 18 I thought I needed a legit job and worked at Walmart and quickly went from Cashier to the sales floor to jewelry.  I was promoted but my schooling got in the way and therefore I left the company.  Worst company to work for EVER!
  • I then went on to work at Target and open up a store close to my house.  I started on the price change team and then was promoted to regional competitive shopper.  This was an awesome job, I'm hear to tell you Target, Walmart and companies just like them have employee's on their payroll they PAY to go to the competitors store and record their prices to make sure they are comparable.  I work take a day and "shop" all my stores, I got out of the store and still got paid AWESOME! Except for the one time my car was hit in a Walmart parking lot whilst I was working for target and that wonderful person completely hit and ran. SCORE! NOT!
  • After that I went to work for a private career school as a receptionist
  • I held a few different jobs at college: assistant to a CPA and working for a ink cartridge place.
  • Then I went to work for a tanning salon for when I moved home and I started modeling a marketing companies.
  • Eventually I went on to work for even more marketing companies and then switched to working in a bar.
Yes I've totally done the above position and NO that's not me.
  • I graduated college (09, BS in Business Admin) and started working for a property management company where I eventually became the office manager.
  • In spring on 2011 I left the property management company and went to my current job.
  • My current title for the last year is: Business Operations Associate (BOA) for a international staffing company.  I work for the corporate headquarters of my company and my position is a blanket position.  The team I work on deals with over see's  government accounts, we make sure they are billed, the client pay's, we track purchase orders, insurance, compliance and education.  I also support the other sections of my company.  As I type this out it sounds horribly boring but I've been working for the last year+ 45 hour weeks at minimum and I love what I do.  I interact with alot of internal people and get to build great relationships with both internal and external clients.  I'm constantly learning something new and sharing my knowledge.  Yes, I work with numbers and the funny thing is I've always hated numbers and I work a TON in excel, but somehow this works for me. The other important thing is there are ALOT of opportunities within the company so when I get tired or burned out there are a lot of different places to go be it within the company, state or country.  Oh did I mention we're a business casual dress company except when we have to visit a client.  Some days I even get to *GASP* wear jeans!  MY favorite part of the job: my coworkers and the company I work for!  Not only are we encouraged to socialize with happy hours, a crab feast and various company parties but we have weekly team building activities and games!

Photobucket
Dear Friday: I'm so glad your here! I thought you would never, EVER come especially after I got two hours of sleep on Monday night do to a visit with an old "friend." Dear work: TYVM for kicking my ass this week, I though since I was all caught up last week I'd be fine. I was sadly mistaken working 50 hours a week is my normal, I know.  Dear pt job: thank you for not making me work this weekend, I appreciate it. Dear Brother: I understand you don't have any money, well join the club, I don't either.  I mean after all see above 2 posts.  If you think I'm going to let you pay whenever you want for dad's birthday gift you are mistaken! I put this bish on credit card and I will be paying it off at the end of the month.  If you want your name on the card you best pay up ASAP.  Dear Coworker: I appreciate that you love crunchy foods, I do to. However, when you chew ice from 8 am until 5 pm it makes me want to claw your eyes out and pray the ice machine breaks again.Dear Sunday Funday: I know I never participate but when the living social deal came out to have all you can eat crabs, booze and water games I had to oblige.  I'm hoping to see alot of hot men and maybe find Mr. Right!

The Blogger 411

I'm so excited to link up with the fabulous MrstoMama, I've been a follower of hers for almost as long as I've had a blog.  I can't wait to get to know meet and make new friends and hopefully gain a few along the way.

1. How long have you been blogging? And what got you started on blogging? Has your blog changed?
I have been blogging for a little over a year, I actually started a bit before my birthday (April) in 2011.  I started blogging because I was in a stressful time in life, oh wait that's my entire life since about 18 - present.  I digress, my blog shows more of me now then it ever did I post just like if you were sitting with me having a conversation, real, honest and a bit sarcastic.  I've learned it's not about the number of followers but for me it's become  bit of therapy and a bit of a true journal.

2. Did you go to college? If so where, and what did you study?
I went to 3 different colleges: community college, a private college and then to my final school.  I graduated from University of Baltimore in December 2009.
3. Where have you traveled?
I've only been out of the "US" once and that was to Mexico, I hope to travel more.  In the mean time we have a summer place in the country about 2 hours from home and thankfully the beach is about 3.5 hours from home so I try to go to both as often as possible.
The hottest guy in MX
4. If you won the lottery, what would be the first thing you would buy?
Sadly, I wouldn't even buy anything first I'd pay off all my debt and then buy a house, what was left I'd buy a new car and give money to my family.
5. What are your 3 biggest pet peeves?
Oh lord just 3?
  • City traffic- I live in the county which in my opinion is the perfect distance from most everything and still not hit too much. traffic.  City traffic in Baltimore is CRAZY, as a matter of fact it can take me 2 hours to get to the other side of the county when trying to get to my hair dresser on a week day.  Thank goodness my hair stylist now works Saturdays.
  • How some people eat- if I can hear you chewing or crunching it's going to drive me nuts, close your freakin mouth people!
  • Speaker phone in a large room with 100 other people in it when it is only a two person conversation.  I don't need to hear you scream into the speaker phone because the room is loud, use the handset!!!
6. What is your favorite movie?
A man apart- a cop movie with Vin Diesal.
7. What is your drink of choice; wine, beer, or liquor. Or Water, Soda, Tea?
Daily I drink water and green tea in the AM, if I'm out drinking it's only liquor.  I had a bad experience with wine where I passed out alone in Florida on business and beer it's just gross. I can't get down with the taste of beer.
8. What is something you enjoy to do when you have me time?
I do absolutely nothing but lay around and watch tv or if there's extra money I go shopping or get pampered.

9. If you could have a $10,000 shopping spree to one store, which store would it be?
Target, I love target and they have some "designer" pieces and everything is stylish.
10. Share with us an embarrassing moment of your past? Or present.
The other morning I totally was committed to pulling out of the drive way with my glass of milk on the roof.  Thank goodness the creepy lady driving slowly passed wasn't creepy but trying to tell me I was reversing down the driveway with my beverage on the roof.
11. What day would you love to relive again?
My last dinner with my mom, we had a good mother daughter talk.  She discussed how proud she was of me and how much she loved me.
12. If your life was turned into a movie... what actor would play you?
If I could choose anyone; Reese Witherspoon.  I know, I know I'm not blonde currently but she's a sweet heart.
13. What are the jobs you had in high school/college/the early years?
  • retail: flea market, walmart, target.
  • Receptionist
  • Tanning Salon Associate
  • Accounting Assistant
14. Show us a picture from high school or college.
June 2004 - High School Graduation
15. If you could travel anywhere in the world, all expenses paid, where would you go?
Fiji- hello over the water bungalows!
16. Show us the most current picture of you or you, or your family, or anything of meaning to you.
Most recent pic, taken this Saturday.  I'm loving being brunette!
17. Where do you see your life 5 years from now?
  • In a higher paying position
  • In a serious relationship
  • Living by myself/without family

Magic Mike with my BFFE Ashley, I'm blessed to call this girl my friend since KINDERGARTEN!

Happy 79th Birthday to the best man I know, my Pop!

My new whip, yes it's a pirate ship and that's how I spent my Thursday afternoon with 50 of my coworkers.
Twinning with a coworker, yes those are shot glass necklaces and pirate "vests" we're wearing.  I mean what's a pirate cruise without the proper attire?
Meeting @ Work: Learning the proper pirate lingo

Tatt, tatt, TATTED up!

Becca and I enjoying a cupcake after our first bar of the night.  Everyone gets cupcakes when they drink, right?

Fridays Letters 070612

Photobucket

Dear Aunt Flo: I severely hate you not only do I get PMS but I also get super bitchy/emotional/irritable during my period.  This making working in a room with 100+ other people a total bear.

Dear Big Wigs @ Work:  I appreciate being off for the actual fourth of July.  However, I really anticipated to getting off early like we do before ever holiday. I even planned to take a half day to spend my morning at the dentist getting my pearly whites checked for straightness and cavities.  I really truly only PLANNED to work about 2-3 hours however, you didn't follow the plan and I had to work a normal work day just shortened. EPIC FAIL!  Next time we shall picky swear.

Dear Old Supervisor: I appreciate getting 100% of my bonus, for the first time ever!!  (WINNING)

Dear Bonus: Thank you for giving me the ability to pay down some debt, sadly before you even hit my bank account I was scheming how to spend you.  New Michael Kors, Mani/Pedi, Hair Done, Clothing, bills.  I'd like to say I already paid off one credit card and put money into savings.  I plan to put at least half of whats left into my other credit card but first a little fun tomorrow: dinner, movies, shopping and my hair done.

Dear Weather: 90+ temperatures in MD for days on end is CRAZY! If I wanted this I'd move to Las Vegas or Cali.  This chick can't handle these high temps for extended period of times, in the end of June/ beginning of July or well EVER!  I hate the heat.

Dear God: Please protect my family especially my grandfather, he has the cardiologist on Monday.

Dear Bestie Since Kindergarten: I can't wait to celebrate your 26th birthday with you tomorrow, I must admit I haven't found your perfect gift just yet.  Dinner, Magic Mike and much needed catching up will ensue tomorrow as soon as your hubby gets home.

Dear Hair Dresser: While I appreciate being able to get an appointment with you Saturday since you weren't originally working this Saturday but a 915 is a bit early.  This sister here doesn't like to get out of bed before 10 on a day I'm not working.  Thank goodness it will be worth it.

Speaking of hair, should I go back darker blonde/light brown or stay blonde?
 or

Dark or Light? Brunette or Blonde??

So WHAT! Wednesday o2

So WHAT..
  • If my family no plans for the 4th, I'm enjoying my day off by relaxing and looking for a PT job.
  • If I've been antisocial, PMS and my impending period do this to me. (Sorry if it's TMI)
  • If I just got paid and paid all my bills today, I always pay first and play with what moneys left.
  • I'm not working on my tan today like 10000000 other people, it's going to be 100+ in Baltimore today.
  • If I'm on not one but TWO dating sites, I'm determined to at least make an effort to find Mr. Right. These days I liken dating to hunting a bear, with proper preparation, tracking and ammo you too can be married someday. Right? Right?

Happy Fourth Everyone!
